THE 4-STEP SEARCH PROCESS

I. Define and Develop Search Objectives

  1. Define position responsibilities, reporting requirements, educational requirements and compensation package.
  2. Gather information regarding members of the client's tax department, and its business and culture.
  3. Develop a plan for presenting client's position to the tax community.

II. Identify Candidates

  1. Conduct a computerized network search.
  2. Provide extensive research on candidate population.
  3. Make initial contact and present client's position to candidates.
  4. Screen and evaluate top candidates.
  5. Write comprehensive profiles on top candidates.
  6. Conduct reference checks on top candidates prior to interview.
  7. Present and discuss candidate profiles with client.

III. Interviews

  1. Arrange interviews.
  2. Prepare candidate and client prior to interviews.
  3. Provide candidate debriefing and feedback to clients.
  4. Arrange subsequent interviews.

IV. Candidate Selection

  1. Negotiate offers.
  2. Conduct offer presentation.
  3. Handle offer acceptance, determination of start date, and resignation preparation.
